SUAREZ NETS FOUR
Liverpool claimed their 8th triumph of this season with a brilliant performance from Luis Suarez as he scored 4 goals and provided the assist for the last goal as his team destroyed Everton with a scoreboard that displayed 5-1 when they battled it out against Norwich City.
Suarez became the top goal-scorer of the Premier League as his total tally so far in this season increases to 13 goals with Sergio Aguero coming close behind only 2 goals behind the Uruguayan forward.
After the match concluded, Brendan Rodgers had nothing but praise for his player.
“I haven’t seen many performances like that,” said Rodgers. “Just sheer brilliance, that was.
“You go through his goals, and don’t forget the assist at the end. The world class operators, the Ronaldos and the Messis, those type of players, it is all about their numbers and what they produce. You look at Suarez, the goals that he scores and the assists that he makes, it’s a pleasure to have him.”
Some time ago, Suarez was facing a number of disciplinary problems due to his actions in and outside of the pitch with rumors emerging claiming that the 26 years old forward was not happy in Liverpool but according to the head coach Brendan Rodgers, he has matured now and things are changing for him with the club - great things have happened since Liverpool signed him.
Rodgers said: “I think he’s the happiest that he has been here. You look at him, the maturity in his performances, he wants to train and to play, and I think this club suits him perfectly.
“His best years are going to be here. He has that connection with the supporters, and it is a hand in glove fit for him at Anfield."
The former Ajax player was being tracked down by top European clubs for the January transfer window but if things continue going in the way it has been for him in Liverpool it will be a huge disappointment if the English club offload him to another club.
