SUAREZ ENJOYED LIVERPOOL TIME WITH SKRTEL

Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez has told UEFA's official website that he enjoyed his time in the Liverpool dressing room with Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel. Suarez talked about Martin Skrtel as a major dressing room influence ahead of the Champions League clash at former club Liverpool on Wednesday night.

Uruguayan striker Suarez sat down with UEFA.com to talk about his time on Merseyside with Liverpool. According to him, Martin Skrtel was one of the key elements to the Liverpool dressing room while he was at the club.

Suarez pointed out that he would have loved to share the Liverpool dressing room with fellow attacker Fernando Torres who left the club for Premier League rivals in January 2011. Torres left Liverpool around the same time as the arrival of Suarez from Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam. He went on to say that it was unbelievable sharing the dressing room with quality players like skipper Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Daniel Agger and Pepe Reina.
Uruguayan international Luis Suarez had a sensational campaign during the 2013/14 season as he scored 31 goals plus 17 assists in 33 Premier League games. It was his last season at Liverpool before he signed for Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona in a £73m deal shortly after the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil.
Skrtel and Suarez played together for over three years. The two players were a regular fixture in the Liverpool team that came close to winning the Premier League title before they were piped to it by Manchester City.
Slovakian defender Skrtel spent eight years at Liverpool, making 320 appearances in all competitions in the process. He left Liverpool two years after the exit of Suarez to Barcelona in a £5m deal. Skrtel left the Reds to join Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahce in 2016.
