SKRTEL SAYS LIVERPOOL WILL BOUNCE BACK SOON

For a team that won the English Premier League title last season, many would have been expecting Liverpool to start this current campaign on a high and also compete for the title this season as well, but just like not everything that's expected usually happens, it did not turn out that way. The Reds started the season with a thrilling 4-3 win against Leeds United at Anfield and their fans thought that the club was continuing from where they stopped last season.

However, after a couple of games into the season, they started showing signs of lackluster performances and started to lag. They suffered a couple of losses and drew games they were expected to win comfortably. The major reason for their dip in form has been due to the many injured a lot of their players have had to suffer or deal with this season, including captain Virgil van Dijk.

The Netherlands international defender suffered a serious injury against Everton in the Merseyside derby at the beginning of the season and it ruled him out of the campaign completely. Since then, Van Dijk has been battling to return from his long injury lay-off alongside his central defensive partner Joe Gomez.

Following their struggles this season, the Reds are currently out of the top 4 places in the English Premier League and are in danger of missing out on Champions League football next term, but Skrtel says that the club will surely bounce back from their recent struggles.

Skrtel said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has tried to make things work at the club despite the injuries his players have had and that from a positive point of view, they will be better when their star players return from injuries and start next season better.
