The fact that Liverpool refused to sign more than one player this summer has remained a shock to many. The Reds signed only one player this summer and decided to not bring in another new face after adding Ibrahima Konate to their squad. They completed and announced that they had reached an agreement with German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig for the transfer of the France international defender before the end of last season and many people thought that they signed the player so early so that they would focus on other targets as the summer transfer window crept in. However, they did not sign another player till the window closed two days ago and many people still talk about it.

The club's fans have been left furious about the fact that not more than one player was added to the squad at a time when all of their rivals were busy spending big and making huge statement signings. The two Manchester clubs, Chelsea, and top-four contenders Leicester City, Tottenham, and Arsenal all splashed the cash in the summer to bring in new additions to their squad, and it's the main reason why Liverpool fans still think that their club should have done better in the summer.

Former Liverpool player Martin Skrtel has agreed with the club's fans and has questioned the Reds' decision to not sign players this summer. Skrtel said that the English Premier League is the toughest in the world and the fact that it keeps evolving means thar clubs should follow the trend. He admitted that Liverpool have failed to follow the trend this time around and it could haunt them this season.
According to the former Reds defender, Liverpool should have signed at least three players as it would have made them stronger and more feared as a team, while also making them one of the favorites to win the league.
