KEEN TO MOVE

Martin Skrtel is all set stun Liverpool in the summer by offering a transfer request. Martin Skrtel has developed into one of the best defenders in the country since his move to Liverpool a few seasons ago.

Even though he struggled during the initial few months of his life in England, he has become a very capable defender in the last few seasons.

However, it is thought that the Slovakian international is ready to go for new pastures after becoming tired of the ability to not play in the Champions League with Liverpool.

Liverpool had been out of the Premier European competition for about three years now and the next season will be the fourth consecutive.
Missing out on the Champions League has meant that Liverpool have not been able to compete with the best clubs across Europe and in England in terms of revenue.

The arrival of mega rich Manchester City into the playing field coupled with the improvement of Tottenham and Newcastle United has meant that Liverpool finished the season in the ninth position. It seems to have brought out the frustration in Martin Skrtel, who is all set to give his official transfer request. The 27-year-old thinks that it is the best chance he has to play at a really top club at the top level.

"We're not looking to move anybody out. The only one that will be moving out will be Fabio [Aurelio], because his contract's up, but we'll not be looking to move anybody out so all we want to do is to add to the squad that we've had and see what happens from there. The transfer market brings up surprises," said Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish. It has been a very poor season for Liverpool, despite the fact that they have won the Carling cup.
